If you like shipwrecks, there are several in Nanaimo, B.C. Otherwise I'd recommend diving Puget Sound or San Juan Islands--lots of diversity here. Note that it's all cold water diving but who cares, you wear a drysuit and it's all good! This would qualify as “around” the U.S.: God’s Pocket Resort in British Columbia.
