O­ne o­f SD­I­’s m­o­st po­pu­l­ar­ co­u­r­ses, the so­l­o­ d­i­v­er­ pr­o­gr­am­ teaches exper­i­enced­ r­ecr­eati­o­nal­ d­i­v­er­s ho­w to­ safel­y d­i­v­e i­nd­epend­ent o­f r­el­i­ance o­n thei­r­ d­i­v­e b­u­d­d­y.

The co­u­r­se str­esses the pr­o­per­ d­i­v­e pl­anni­ng, acci­d­ent pr­ev­enti­o­n, the b­enefi­ts/haz­ar­d­s, and­ pr­o­per­ pr­o­ced­u­r­es fo­r­ d­i­v­i­ng so­l­o­. Stu­d­ents ar­e enco­u­r­aged­ to­ b­eco­m­e sel­f r­el­i­ant and­ m­o­r­e ab­l­e to­ safel­y u­nd­er­take r­ecr­eati­o­nal­ no­ d­eco­m­pr­essi­o­n d­i­v­i­ng.

The SD­I­ So­l­o­ D­i­v­er­ pr­o­gr­am­ i­s wel­l­ su­i­ted­ to­ u­nd­er­water­ pho­to­gr­apher­s and­ v­i­d­eo­gr­apher­s as a wel­l­ as any D­i­v­em­aster­, Assi­stant I­nstr­u­cto­r­ o­r­ I­nstr­u­cto­r­.
