so what is the main difference between the 2 of them? Well, let’s see :

Divemasters are specifically trained to work with dive students, assisting them, looking after their safety and helping with the Instructors. The diver who achieves the Master Scuba Diver Certification does not work with classes, but has followed a structured training program with a PADI Instructor, making many training dives and studying PADI materials designed to provide a broad based knowledge of many different diving situations

so why do I need the PADI Master Scuba diver is not the greast thing in the world? Well, because based on the amount of time and money you invest you could end up with a PADI Divemaster Course . The PADI master Scuba diver is a collection of 5 specialties and in my personal view is a great way to expand your view about diving. You can do any of the 5 specialties from PADI and depends of where you are or the dive center you are with, you can do many different type of diving, courses, etc.

The cost of the course depends a lot in the type of courses you do, if you choose Wreck Specialty with Deep Specialty , well, the cost of your PADI Master Scuba Diver Course will be higher than doing with out this type of courses. Again, it all depends of what type of diving are you looking for.

The reason why I don’t LOVE this Diving course, si because I consider that being called a MASTER scuba Diver, it means that you are an expert in scuba diving and 5 specialties don’t make you an expert. But again, it is a nice challenge to take and this is the highest non professional certification you can take with PADI.

So PADI just launch a new scuba diving specialty: PADI Boat Diving Specialty.

Boat Diver

Whether you’ve never made a boat dive or you’ve logged dozens, the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course can benefit almost every diver because different boats in different parts of the world do things differently. The PADI Boat Diver Specialty course familiarizes you with the various ways you stow gear, enter and exit the water, use surface lines and more, depending upon the type boat and the location.

* Must be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)

• Covers techniques for diving from boats ranging from small inflatable’s to giant live-aboard’s
• Discusses how dive boats differ from place to place
• Gives you focused experience and training for diving from boats in your local area
• Covers basic boat safety equipment and use
• Certification counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

1. Independently teach and certify PADI Assistant Instructors.
2. Conduct specific IDC/IOC training segments under direct supervision of a PADI Course Director.
3. Evaluate, critique and counsel IDC/IOC candidates.
4. Assist with instructor level continuing education programs.

To enter into the PADI IDC Staff Instructor program, you’ll need to be a current PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. After you successfully complete the PADI IDC Staff Instructor program, you’ll receive an internationally recognized certification card and wall certificate denoting this rating..

The PADI Rescue Diver will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you’ll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.

Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you’ll cover:

• missing diver procedures

• The Adventures in Diving program offers both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. The Open Water manual is a pretty cool course, where you learn the basics of scuba diving and in fact you learn to scuba dive without an instructor. The idea of the open water course is to give you the safety and the basic standards so you can go and dive with another buddy or diver.

You learn to dive to 18 meters depth and if you really love it, then you can move ahead to the Advanced Open Water Course .

The PADI Open Water Course takes 4 days, the first day usually is theory and it can be a bit boring , but then in the second day, you will be taken to the pool…
Day 3 and 4 includes 4 dives in the ocean, where you learn what you practice in the pool.
